Finding Hope in Despair – Penny Bragg
Our desire as women is that the healing of our loved ones or the positive resolution of our big life problems will work out—that all our hurts will be healed on this side of Heaven. But, that’s not always the way things turn out. How do we survive when the darkness rolls in…and remains? This workshop offers tangible and creative tools to keep hope alive and grow your faith in God, even in the face of suffering.
Missional Living – Right Where You Are – Grace Lee
Many of us may have read that verse in Isaiah 6, “Whom shall I send? Who will go for us? And I (Isaiah) said, Here I am. Send me!” But if we’re honest, it’s more like “Here I am, Send HER! Just not me.” Our fears of inadequacy may convince us that missions are for evangelists only or the spiritual elite. Yet, the amazing truth is that missions is part of our everyday life. Come and see how practical missions can be for wherever you are.
Spiritual R & R – Frances Tuck
The purpose of this workshop is to take a moment to slow down in prayerful reflection. We’ll learn about and practice the ancient spiritual discipline of examen, which helps us to focus on God’s presence in our daily lives. As we learn to see His presence more clearly, we also begin to see the larger story He is writing in our lives.
Would Jesus Have a Smart Phone? – Christy Ingbretson
It’s 2017. We live in a world shaped by technology. It’s impacting our brains, our relationships, and most definitely our spiritual lives specifically our ability to hear God’s voice and respond to Him. In this workshop, Christy will invite you to consider your own use of technology, suggesting practices that will increase your awareness of God’s presence in the “daily-ness” of your life, freeing you from distraction, to embrace what God is doing right in this very moment.
Starting in the Middle – Andrea Coli
In the middle of busy, over-demanding lives, it’s easy to put “us” on hold until things slow down. But the truth is that God has plans for us NOW right in the middle of everything we are already doing. Sometimes God’s plan for you is right under your nose. In this workshop we will look strategically at how God is already working in your life (relationships, job, parenting, volunteering, hobbies, etc.), and use those insights as a tool to discover how He might want to use you to make a difference in the lives around you.
Savoring the Seasons of Life – Marti Williams
This will be a one hour mentoring workshop. I will talk about my failures and successes, how we can grieve appropriately the loss of one season as we transition to the next one, why I love to live inter- generationally, preparing for aging while accepting its losses, finding contentment in a hedonistic culture, discovering your God-given life’s mission no matter what your age and more.
Going Heart to Heart with God – Susy Flory
This workshop will introduce the nine different “spiritual” temperaments (which are basically the nine ways people relate to God: nature senses, tradition, solitude, activism, caregiving, mystery/celebration, adoration, and knowledge), using the book Sacred Pathways, by Gary Thomas. You will: discover your unique spiritual temperament, understand how you best relate to God, find different ways of demonstrating your love for God, and take a quiz so you can determine your own spiritual temperament (and also find out what areas you can grow in!)
